Bessie Lee Malloy

Bessie Lee Malloy, 81, Bucklin, died at 2:10 p.m. Monday at University Hospital and Clinics, Columbia, after an extended illness.

Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at First Christian Church, Bucklin, with the Rev. Clyde Enyeart officiating.  Burial will be in New Cambria Cemetery.  Visitation starts at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Gilleland and McElwain Funeral Home, New Cambria, and will also be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, at the church.

Mrs. Malloy was born Feb. 25, 1911, at Kaseyville, daughter of Charley Green and Sarah Nancy (Littrell) Leathers.  She and Ivan Lee "Pat" Malloy were married June 30, 1928, in Bucklin.

Surviving are two sons, Forral and Earl Malloy, Bucklin; five daughters, Norma Lou Snow, Paducah, Ky., Sarah Greer and Elaine Johnson, Bucklin, Sherrill Rowland, Sedalia, and Glenda Wood, New Cambria; one sister, Sallie Podzimek, Bevier, 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two grandsons, Larry Eugene Johnson, Leavenworth, Kan., and Rick Alan Greer, Bucklin, and a granddaughter, Melinda Beth Wood, New Cambria.

She was a member of First Christian Church, Bucklin, and a member and past worthy matron of Golden Rule Chapter #52, Order of the Eastern Star, Bucklin.
