Enoch Junior Lyon, 86, of Carthage, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, at the Hancock County Nursing Home in Carthage of natural causes.
He was born Sept. 15, 1918, in Denver, a son of Enoch G. and Fern Wristen Lyon. He married Wilda Patterson on May 3, 1963 in Carthage.
He is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Doyle of Carthage and Kathleen Jackson of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and seven nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilda; one brother, Leonard; one niece, Lisa Fritz; and one great-niece, Lonna Sloop.
He attended Denver High School and graduated from Bowen High School. He farmed in the Bentley-Denver area and later in the Hamilton area, retiring in 1993.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, at the Printy Funeral Home in Carthage, with family meeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, at Printy Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Harmony Township Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the Western Illinois Old Threshers or the Heart Foundation.
