Funeral Rites for
William Lovell

Funeral services for Wm. C. Lovell, retired farmer of this community, who died yesterday about 5 p. m., at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dexter Murphy of  Ferris will be held Saturday at 3 p. m. at The Elms, with Rev. Frank Leonard officiating.  Bentley Lodge I. O. O. F. will have a part in the service.  Burial will be in McKay cemetery.

Deceased was born Jan. 18, 1873 at Springfield, Mo., the son of Reuben and Eliza Parker Lovell.

His wife the former Maude Goldsberry is deceased.

Surviving are the following children, Mrs. Jess Hoover, Mrs. Everett Climer, Merlin, Lloyd and Allen all of  Carthage, Mrs. Dexter Murphy of Ferris and Mrs. George Urton, Elvaston.  Also a brother, Ira, of Cat Springs, Texas.

W. C. Lovell, 75,
Dies at Ferris

William Christopher Lovell, 75, a resident of Ferris, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dexter Murphy, on Thursday afternoon, Feb. 5, 1948.

He was the son of Reuben and Eliza Lovell and was born January 16, 1873 at Springfield, Missouri.  He was married to Maude Goldsberry on January 16, 1895 at Carthage.

Mr. Lovell is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Jesse Hoover of  Carthage, Mrs. Everette Climer of  Carthage, Mrs. Dexter Murphy of  Ferris and Mrs. George Urton of  Elvaston and by three sons; Merlin, Lloyd and Allen all of  Carthage; one brother also survives, Ira of Cat Springs, Texas.  Twenty two grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive.

Mr. Lovell was preceded in death by his wife, two sisters and one brother.

Funeral services were held from The Elms, Saturday, Feb. 7, at 3:00 o'clock p. m., with Rev. Frank Leonard in charge.  Mrs. Leland Thompson sang "Beyond The Sunset" and "Going Down The Valley."

Pall bearers were: J. A. Duffy, J. H. Van Winkle, Bryan Hardy, Albert Salisbury, Ray Robinson and George Harrison.

Interment was in McKay cemetery with committal services under auspices of Bentley Lodge No. 412, I. O. O. F.
