RUTH M. LOVELL

Oct. 1, 1912 -- Dec. 3, 2002

Ruth M. Lovell, 90, of Ferris, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, at her daughter's home in Lake of the Oaks, Mo.

She was born on Oct. 1, 1912, in Carthage, the daughter of James and Minnie Frances Boston Edgecomb.  She married R. Lloyd Lovell on July 5, 1933, in Palmyra, Mo.

She is survived by two daughters, Ruth (Pete) Henson of Lake of the Oaks, and Wanda (Richard) Boyer of Ferris; one son, James L. "Butch" Lovell of Ferris; one son-in-law, Mike Alexander of Lake of the Oaks; one half-sister, Ruby Bower of Jewett; one half-brother, Calvin Edgecomb of Newton; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Mary Alexander; three sisters, Opal Davis, Edith Ellefritz and Hazel Franks; two brothers, William Edgecomb and Harry Edgecomb; one half-brother, Melvin Edgecomb; and her step-mother, Mabel Edgecomb.

She attended Ferris Christian Church in Ferris.  She enjoyed being a mother and homemaker and spending time with her family.  She volunteered her time to her friends and neighbors in and around Ferris.  She enjoyed gardening, sewing, baby-sitting and her dog, Buddy.

Services were held Friday, Dec. 6, at Lamporte Funeral Home of CarthageRev. Paul Kinney officiated.  Burial was held in the McKay Cemetery in Burnside.

Memorials in memory of Ruth M. Lovell may be made to Hancock County Health Department for people in need.
