Evelyn M. Lovell, 73, of Augusta, formerly of Ferris and Bowen, died, Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at Carthage Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 30, 1927, in Carthage, a daughter of Elmer and Hazel Edgecomb Franks. On February 11, 1946, she married William Lovell in Carthage. He preceded her in death on August 1, 1982.
She is survived by one daughter, Sidney Lovell, of Augusta; three sons, Larry, (Paulette) of Peoria, William, (Betty) of Bowen, and Jack, (Rhonda) of Augusta; two sisters, Mrs. Bill (Jean) Twitchell and Mrs. Dick (Kate) Spurgeon, both of Ferris; one brother, Harvey Franks, of Carthage; five grandchildren, Sarah, Mellanie, Daryl, Charles, and Lewis; four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, Donnie.
She was a cook at the Maid Rite in Carthage, and school custodian for many years at the Bowen School. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Bowen American Legion.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2001 in the Lamporte Funeral Home, with Rev. James Fox officiating. Burial was in the McKay Cemetery, near Burnside.
Memorials in the name of Evelyn M. Lovell have been established for the Tri-Village Ambulance Service.
