Last Rites Held
For Mrs. Isabelle Long

Isabell Young, the daughter of Catherine and Jessie Young, was born Nov. 29, 1859, in Pilot Grove township and passed away at her home in Pontoosuc at 8:30 p. m. March 25, 1939, at the age of 79 years, 3 months and 26 days.

On Dec. 6, 1877, Isabell Young and William Long were united in marriage and to this union four children were born.  One son and one daughter preceded her in death and on Aug. 13, 1934, Mr. Long passed away, leaving a faithful and loving wife, who found life very lonesome without her husband, who had been her companion for over 56 years.

Surviving are two sons, Harry of Fort Madison, and Prescott of Pontoosuc; three sisters, Mrs. Hettie Ewing, Mrs. Elvina Jacobs and Mrs. Nettie Wilcox, all of Pontoosuc; two grandchildren, Lorraine and Lyle Long of Fort Madison; one great grandchild, Gladys Kay Thompson of Missouri; also a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends who knew this dear gentle lady as "Aunt Bell."

She was a member of the Christian church of Carthage and of the Eastern Star lodge of Burnside.  Her entire life was spent in Hancock county.

Since the death of Mr. Long, she has been in failing health, but the end came quietly and suddenly while she sat with her sons, Prescott and Harry and the latter's wife, Bessie, in her own home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Long were held in the Presbyterian church at Pontoosuc, Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock, Rev. Fred S. Nichols officiating.  Interment was in McKay cemetery, south of Burnside.
