Brett Andrew Long, 25, of Carthage, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Basco.
He was born Sept. 4, 1980, in Carthage, a son of Terry and Janie Kendall Long.
He is survived by his parents, Terry and Janie Long of Carthage; one brother, Shane (Tiffiny) Long of Carthage; one nephew, Jacob Long of Carthage; his grandparents, Donna and Donald Long of Carthage and Earl Kendall of Plymouth.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Marguerite Kendall in 1999.
He attended Carthage High School, graduating in 1998. He was employed by Methode Electronics in Carthage and was a student at Western Illinois University. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed country music, hunting and fishing.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, at the Burnside Christian Church. Burial will follow in the Harmony Township Cemetery near Bentley.
A memorial fund has been established.
