Bessie Lipper, 73, of Hamilton, died Monday afternoon, July 3, 2006, in the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, Iowa. Arrangements are pending at the Lamporte Funeral Home in Hamilton.

Bessie Alma Lipper, 73, of Hamilton, died Monday,
July 3, 2006, at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk,
Iowa.
She was born on Feb. 1, 1933, in Burlington, Iowa, a daughter of Everett Ray and Artie Mable Robbins Stamper. She married Raymond Royal Lipper on April 24, 1955, in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. He died Aug. 15, 1987.She is survived by two daughters, Bev (Irvin) Chase of Las Vegas, Nev., and Roxie (Bill) Fry of Keokuk; two sons, Rodney (Roxanne) Lipper of Burlington and Philip (Sandy) Lipper of Harrisburg; three sisters, Clara Mae (Bud) Rayburn of Dodgeville, Iowa, Twila (Bob) Siner of The Villages, Fla., and Marie Sly of Fort Madison; one brother, Jim (Tike) Elder of Burlington; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters; four brothers; and one grandson, David Chase.
She graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in Mount Pleasant in 1949. She was of the Protestant faith. She had retired from Sheller Globe in Keokuk after 30 years of employment. She was a member of R.S.V.P., Red Hat Society and the STARRS Program. She volunteered for the bloodmobile, was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed quilting and loved flowers. She also collected bells. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family and baby-sitting her grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 8, at Lamporte Funeral Home in Hamilton. Burial followed in the Oakland Cemetery in Warsaw.
Memorials in memory of Bessie Lipper have been established for Hancock County Red Cross.
