Page 128Friends here were somewhat surprised to learn about noon Sunday that Frank Law of the Webster vicinity had passed away at Memorial Hospital in Carthage a few hours earlier.
He had been a patient at the hospital for a little over a week and had undergone surgery a few days before, but it was not generally known that his condition was critical.
Frank was born in Ftn. Green sixty nine years ago and had spent his entire life in this general locality. For many years he was a successful teacher in the rural schools of this section. After retiring from the teaching profession he became engaged in farming and stock raising, an occupation which he continued to follow throughout the remainder of his life.
Of his immediate family, he is survived only by one brother, Arch Law, who lives in Arkansas. There are also a number of distant cousins in this vicinity.
Funeral services were held at the Ftn. Green Presbyterian church this Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with Rev. Robert B. Clark, pastor of the Carthage Presbyterian church officiating.
