Vera M. Latherow, 80, Carthage, formerly of Fountain Green, died Sunday in Memorial Hospital, Carthage.
She was born Dec. 4, 1904, near Fountain Green, a daughter of J. Gilbert and Florence George Jones. She married Melvin Latherow, June 22, 1940, in Council Grove, Kan. He died March 3, 1977.
She was a member of the Fountain Green Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are one son, Frederick Ackerman, of Iowa; two sisters, Ardella Bosch, Council Grove, Kan. and Fay Galloway, Sac City, Iowa; one brother, Gomer Jones, Rogers, Ark. and one grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, in the Fountain Green Presbyterian Church, the Rev. John Lewis officiating. Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery at rural Tennessee.
A memorial to the Fountain Green Presbyterian Church has been established.
