Funeral services for Miss Edith L. Latherow, 81, Fountain Green, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Fountain Green Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Wilmer H. Wernecke officiating. Burial was in the Fountain Green Cemetery. Visitation was in the Clugston chapel in Macomb. A memorial fund has been established in her name for the Fountain Green church.
Miss Latherow died Saturday night June 19, 1976.
She was born May 5, 1895, in Fountain Green, a daughter of Thomas and Nellie Williams Latherow. She was postmistress in Fountain Green for 28 years, retiring in 1965, and had operated the general store in Fountain Green for many years. She was a member of the Fountain Green Presbyterian church, the AWT circle, the National League of Postmasters and the Order of Eastern Star of LaHarpe and Blandinsville.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Harry (Gracia) Olander and Mrs. Frank (Helen) Wright of Macomb and Mrs. Myron (Pauline) Mull of Peoria; and one brother, Melvin Latherow of Fountain Green. She was preceded in death by six brothers and a sister.
