TAKES OWN LIFEShoots Self Fatally Thursday,
June 26; Was Hancock
Township NativeMinor E. Larson, 59, R. R. 1, Camden, shot himself fatally with a shotgun at his home last Thursday, June 26, 1969. His lifeless body was found in the basement of his farm home by his wife.
Funeral services for Mr. Larson were held at 2 p. m. Saturday in the Colchester Baptist church, the Rev. Clinton Sweet officiating. Burial was in Mt. Auburn cemetery in Colchester. The Roby Funeral chapel of Rushville had charge of the services.
Native of Hancock Twp.
Mr. Larson was born May 6, 1910, in Hancock township, Hancock county, a son of Godfrey and Minnie Fletcher Larson. He had farmed for 14 years in Schuyler county after moving there from Carthage. He married Marie Turner on Feb. 10, 1946; she survives.
He is also survived by a daughter, Sharon, at home; five sons, Leroy of LeClaire, Iowa, Loren of East Moline, Gene of Colona, Larry of Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., and Calvin, at home; a sister, Mrs. Lenora Snyder of Macomb; two brothers, John of Carthage and Orville of Tennessee; and nine grandchildren.

Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Sharon at home; five sons, Leroy of LeClaire, Iowa, Loren of East Moline, Gene of Colona, Larry of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., and Calvin at home; a sister, Mrs. Lenora Snyder of Macomb; two brothers, John of Carthage and Orville of Tennessee; and nine grandchildren.
