Column 7William Koontz
The death of William Koontz occurred early Monday morning in the family home on Ninth street, Hamilton. Mr. Koontz, who had been ill for a number of months, was the son of Jefferson and Cora Turner Koontz, and was born in Palmyra, Mo., July 24, 1876. His marriage to Miss Ethel Hobart of Fountain Green, Illinois, was solemnized in Carthage, October 9, 1898. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Franklin of San Francisco and Farnum, of Fresno, California, two daughters, Mrs. Ralph Worman of Hamilton, and Miss Leora Koontz at home, and an aged father, Jefferson Koontz of Carthage. The funeral service will be Thursday afternoon in the Hanerhoff Funeral Home at 2 o'clock, with burial in the Oakwood cemetery. Rev. E. N. Wesley will officiate.

CARTHAGE CITIZENW. E. "Dude" Koontz died at his home in Hamilton last Monday after an illness of several months of a stomach ailment, aged 58 years.
Deceased was a son of Jefferson and the late Cora (Turner) Koontz, and besides the wife, who was formerly Miss Ethel Hobart, of Fountain Green, he is survived by four children, viz.: Franklin of San Francisco, Calif.; Farn of Fresno, Calif.; Forrest, wife of Ralph Worman, of Hamilton, and Miss Leora at home, who were all present at the funeral excepting the son, Farn. His aged father, Jefferson Koontz also survives.

Column 1DEATH OF W. E. KOONTZ.
W. E. (Dood) Koontz passed away at his home in Hamilton, Ill., Sunday, Nov. 11th, 1934, at midnight, after a long illness. For more than a year he has been in poor health, suffering severe stomach attacks and other complications, resulting in death. During his illness he was tenderly cared for by his wife and daughters and made as comfortable as possible.
He was of a friendly nature, a good husband and father and a dependable neighbor, lending a helping hand wherever needed.
William Edward Koontz was the son of Jefferson and Cora (Turner) Koontz and was born in LaMarr, Mo., July 24, 1876.
On Oct. 19, 1898, at Carthage, Ill., he was united in marriage to Miss Ethel Blanche Hobart of Webster, Ill.
In his passing he leaves his wife and four children: Mrs. Ralph Worman of Hamilton, Ill.; Franklin Koontz, of San Francisco, Calif.; Farnum Koontz, of Fresno, Calif., and Leora Koontz at home. A son and daughter died in infancy. He also leaves his aged father, Jefferson Koontz; two half-sisters, Mrs. W. I. Earls and Mrs. Alfred Weir, all of Carthage; a half-brother, Ross Koontz, of San Cruiz, Calif., and a little grandson, Richard Koontz, whom he was especially proud of.
Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock in the Hanerhoff funeral home, conducted by Rev. E. N. Wisley, pastor of the M. E. Church. Interment was in Oakwood cemetery at Hamilton.
