Pneumonia Fatal
To Prominent
Basco Resident

O. C. Kimbrough Passed
Away Thursday In
Keokuk Hospital

Oliver Clone Kimbrough, 61, well known resident of the Basco community, died at the St. Joseph hospital in Keokuk Thursday evening following a short illness of lobar pneumonia.  He was the oldest son of Thomas and Amelia Kimbrough and was born in Harmony township September 10, 1883.  He spent his boyhood days in Bentley.

He is survived by two sons, Pfc. Leo E. Kimbrough, stationed at Lincoln, Nebr., and Leon of Ely, Nev., and two daughters, Lois, wife of J. M. Jones of near Nauvoo and Betty of Fort Madison two sisters, Mrs. Flossie Kleckner of Carthage and Mrs. Blanche White of East Carthage; one brother, Vernon Kimbrough of Basco; three grandchildren and four nieces and four nephews.

Mr. Kimbrough had a wide circle of friends and those who knew him best appreciated the many sterling qualities he possessed.  He will be greatly missed by his children and other near relatives, especially by his niece, Olive Earls, who lived near him and gave him devoted care during the last eight years of his life.

Funeral services were held at The Elms at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon with Rev. Morgan Webb officiating.  Miss Frances Hubbard, accompanied by Mrs. Lowell Smith, sang "Beautiful Garden of Prayer" and "In the Garden."  Burial was in the South cemetery at Basco.
