For Oscar S. Kigar, Who
Died Tuesday AfternoonOscar S. Kigar, 79 years old and a resident of Edina for 15 years, died at 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, March 15, 1966, at Stickler Hospital in Kirksville where he had been since November, 1965. He had been in failing health the last few years.
Funeral services will be at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel here with the Rev. V. Carl Hickman officiating. Burial will be in the Greensburg Cemetery.
Mr. Kigar is survived by a daughter, Ruth, Mrs. Howard Waggener, of 4½ miles northeast of Hurdland; two grandchildren, Donna Lee, Mrs. Alvie Parrish, of south of Novelty and James Harry Waggener of San Diego, Calif.; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond Kigar of Kirksville and Joseph Kigar of Des Moines, Iowa, and a sister, Maude, Mrs. Joe Burrus, of Baring.
One of the eleven children of John D. and Minnie F. Bryant Kigar, he was born in Scotland County Sept. 17, 1886. He was married to Tonia Cruse in Edina Aug. 3, 1916, and she preceded him in death April 1, 1957. Most of his life had been spent in Knox County and he was a farmer.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, Fred, John, Otto, Lavon, Earl and Lewis Kigar, and a sister, Alice, Mrs. Burley Salisbury. The last brother, Lewis, died Feb. 6 this year.
