Richard Kigar of west of Bible Grove, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Cordie Kigar of Rt. 1, Baring, and a brother of Jack Kigar, of northwest of Baring, was injured yesterday morning in a corn picker accident near Bible Grove. He was working in the field alone when his hand became caught in the picker and was unable to free himself. He yelled for help and a neighbor, Fred Snyder, heard him and went to help. He was taken to the Kirksville Osteopathic Hospital by his wife where he underwent a three-hour surgery on the hand and fingers and was reported to be getting along as well as possible last night by members of his family. En route to the hospital, Mr. and Mrs. Kigar came upon a Highway Patrolman and stopped for his assistance as Mr. Kigar was bleeding. He took him on in his patrol car to the hospital in order to reach there quicker.
