Earl A. Kendall, 94, of rural Plymouth, died on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at the Hancock County Nursing Home in Carthage.
He was born on Oct. 21, 1915, in St. Mary Township, the son of Roswell and Edna Maude Worman Kendall. He married Marguerite Earls on Oct. 8, 1938, in Burlington Iowa. She died on Sept. 22, 1999.
Earl is survived by two daughters, Joann (Tom) VanMeter of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Janie (Terry) Long of Carthage; one son, Marion (Doris) Kendall of New London, Mo.; six grandchildren, Julie (David) Strasser, Jeremy (Katie) VanMeter, Robert (Susan) Kendall, Renee (Michelin) Phareau, Regina Kendall and Shane (Tiffiny) Long; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Brett Long; and one sister, Inez Thompson.
Earl was a retired farmer and a well-known area livestock producer. He attended the Denver Christian Church. He served on the board of the Hancock County Soil and Water Conservation District for a number of years. He enjoyed attending men's fellowship and working with youth at the Lamoine Christian Camp in their formative years.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Nov. 9, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta. Rev. Joe Little officiated. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb.
Memorials may be made to the Lamoine Christian Camp or the Denver Christian Church.
