Mrs. C. Jeannette Jones of Chenoa died suddenly at her home Friday, April 21, 1944, at 2 a.m.
She was born March 6, 1862, in Rook's Creek, the daughter of Oliver and Anna Potter Thurber. When she was 4, her parents moved to Chenoa and the greater part of her life had been spent in that vicinity. She was married to Hugh D. Jones on Nov. 29, 1894. He died Oct. 28, 1905. Surviving are two sons, Trevor of Havana and Hugh of Park Ridge. There are also living one brother, five granddaughters, a grandson and a great grandson.
Mrs. Jones had been active in community affairs and was a member of the Chenoa Methodist church and of the DAR.
Funeral services were held at the Chenoa Methodist church at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Charles E. Coleman officiated. Pall bearers were James Jones, Edwyn Jones, O. H. Elder, Clifford Garrett and Dennis Ehrhardt of Lexington and Victor Nichols of Chenoa.
Burial was in the Chenoa cemetery.

D. Kahle of Gridley.
