Geoffrey W. Jones, 44, of Batesville, Ark., and formerly of Warsaw, died Saturday, May 7, 2005, in Batesville from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born July 28, 1960, in Carthage, a son of William Forrest and Donna Ruth Long Jones.
He is survived by his parents, William and Donna Jones of Warsaw; two brothers, Gregory (Leslie) Jones of Keokuk, Iowa, and Gary (Tammy) Jones of Warsaw; two nieces, Audrey and Nichole Jones; six nephews, Zach, Ethan, Will, Casey, Dennis and Matthew Jones; two great-nieces, Callie Jones and Ilona Seay; one great-nephew, Isaiah Seay; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Willis and Alice Long and his paternal grandparents, Arch and Frances Rowe.
He went to school in Warsaw and graduated from Warsaw High School with the Class of 1978. He went to Quincy Tech for one year and was a welding graduate. He moved to Batesville about 12 years ago and was employed at Con-Agra, where he was a member of the U.F.C.W. union. He was a member of the Eagles Club in Horse Shoe Bend. He liked to hunt arrowheads with his family, enjoyed fishing and visiting with friends, and enjoyed the outdoors.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 12, in the Lamporte Funeral Home in Warsaw, with Rev. Mark Horn officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemtery in Warsaw.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, and meet with family from 5 to 7 p.m.
Memorials in the name of Geoffrey W. Jones have been established for Trinity United Methodist Church of Warsaw.
