Passed Away In
Keokuk HospitalRaymond Earl Johnson of Warsaw, Illinois, died at the St. Joseph hospital in Keokuk, Iowa. He had been in poor health for several months but was not confined to his bed until three years ago.
Born in Carthage, Illinois on July 17, 1879, he was the son of George and Harriett Harter Johnson. He grew to manhood in Carthage and has lived in Hancock county the greater part of his life. Four years ago he moved to Warsaw where he has farmed and operated a sawmill.
He was united in marriage April 6, 1904 to Martha Babcock of Plymouth, Illinois. Two sons were born to this union.
Surviving are his widow, two sons Hallie and Hugh of Warsaw. One sister, Mrs. Otho Babcock of Ft. Madison, Iowa. Three brothers Henry and Curtis of Plymouth and twin brother Ralph of Carthage. Four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held at the Elms, Sunday at 2:00 p. m. the Rev. Fred Nichols officiating. Interment at Oak Grove.
