Hallie L. Johnson, 78, of rural Carthage, died Jan. 19, in Montebello Manor Nursing Home at Hamilton, where he had been a resident a day.
He was born Nov. 5, 1904, at Carthage, a son of Raymond and Mattie Babcock Johnson. He married Dorothy Breitenbucher.
Mr. Johnson was the assistant foreman of Material Service Company at Lockport until retiring in 1985 due to ill health. He then moved to Carthage where he farmed.
Surviving are two sons, Warren of Florida City, Fla., and Kenneth of Manassas, Va.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a son and a brother.
Graveside services were conducted Saturday in the Oak Grove Christian Church Cemetery, east of Carthage, with the Rev. Franklin Woods. A memorial has been established in his name.
