Elbert H.
Jenkins Died
Monday Night

A Well Known Retired Farmer
Passes to His Reward. --- Fun-
eral This Afternoon.

Elbert H. Jenkins died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fred Wright, on Monday evening, Aug. 29, 1932, aged 64 years, 8 months and 9 days.

He was the oldest of three sons born to Robert and Emily (Maulk) Jenkins, Dec. 23, 1867.  Both parents died when the boys were young.  The two brothers, Edward J. and Wiley H. survive.  He was a successful farmer.

Mr. Jenkins was married to Della Hardy, Feb. 9, 1893, who died leaving the home desolate, February, 1918, since which time he has lived only for his children.  He is survived by his three children, Ora H., Mrs. Hazel Wright and Kenneth H., who have been devoted to him.  His sixty-four years were lived in this community, where his life is an open book, on each page of which were written, "Friendship, Love and Truth."  This heritage he passes on to his children.  He was a member of the Odd Fellows lodge for over thirty years.

Mr. Jenkins' health has been failing for many months.  A surgical operation stayed the progress of his malady, but in spite of that his health gradually failed and he fell asleep Monday evening.  He was a man of very gentle mould, well liked by every one and true and loyal to his family and friends.  He has been in the home of his daughter the past year, where he has received every attention to ease his declining days and his passing leaves a great emptiness in his family, for he was a loving loyal friend to his loved ones.

Say not, because he did no wondrous
        deed,
    Amassed no worldly gain,
Wrote no great book, revealed no hid-
        den truth
    Perchance he lived in vain,
For there was grief in many hearts
The hour he ceased to lived
He held the love of children and of
        men,
Life has no more to give.

The funeral will be held at the Fred Wright home this Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, the Rev. H. C. Reichel to officiate.  Interment at Harmony cemetery, under the auspices of the I. O. O. F.
