Column 4Sudden Death
Mrs. Susan M. Jackson, wife of Peter Jackson of this township, died quite suddenly Sunday morning, 4th instant, at 8:20 o'clock. The lady had been in poor health four or five years, but on the morning of her death was up and about the house a short time, but not feeling well laid down. Shortly afterwards she was discovered to be dying. She passed away without a struggle. Her age was 46 years, 1 month and 4 days.
Mrs. Jackson's maiden name was Salisbury; married to Mr. Jackson on the 13th of April 1863. The husband and six children, five sons and one daughter survive, all at home.
Mrs. Jackson was a consistent member of the Presbyterian church, a loving wife and mother and most kind neighbor and friend. She will be missed by a large circle of friends and deeply mourned by her bereaved family.
The funeral will take place today from the Presbyterian church at 1 o'clock, p. m.
