Column 3CARTHAGE COUPLE
WED IN MINNESOTANina E. Owen of Carthage, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Weeks of Burnside, and Howard C. Goodrich, son of Rex Goodrich of Carthage, were married at 7:30 Tuesday evening, August 5, at the Methodist parsonage at Winnebago, Minn. Rev. Everett Gilman performed the ceremony.
Mrs. Goodrich wore a dressmaker suit of gunmetal wool with deep purple stripes.
On their return Monday evening a dinner honoring the couple was served at the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. Virgil Siegfried and Mr. Siegfried.
Mrs. Goodrich is employed by the Main Cleaners and will continue with her work there. Mr. Goodrich operates a portable mill. They will make their home in Carthage.

June 27, 1908 -- May 19, 1997
Nina Ethel Hutchins, 88, of Carthage, died Monday, May 19 at Memorial Hospital in Carthage.
She was born June 27, 1908, near Denver, Ill. to Edward G. and Lula D. Cox Weeks. She married Clarence E. Hutchins, Jr. Nov. 24, 1962 in Stockton. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by two sons, Edward J. and Jean Owen, Carthage, Gilbert E. and Margaret Miller, Kirksville, Mo.; two step sons, Billy L. and Mary Hutchins, El Paso, Texas; Charles and Lupe Hutchins, Saudi Arabia; three step daughters; Patricia Windler, Carol Marlin and Sharon Mougler; one brother, Ivan Weeks, LaHarpe; one sister, Fern Wilson, Carthage; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Ethel Boston and Martha Owen (in infancy); three brothers, Chester, Glen, and Henry Weeks; three sisters, Thelma Hutchins, Elsie Seigfried, and Effie Sowers; and one grandson, Curtis Boston.
Services were held Friday, May 23 at Lamporte Funeral Home of Carthage with the Rev. Randal Nicholas officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton.
Memorials may be made to Carthage Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
