Page 1DEATH OF AN HONORED PIONEER
John Wilson Huston died at his home in Hancock township, Jan. 31st, 1893. Mr. Huston was born in Carlisle, Cumberland county, Penn., September 26, 1826. Came to Illinois in the fall of 1850, and settled on a farm in Hancock township where he has since resided, and by his good management he has accumulated quite an amount of property. Mr. Huston has been afflicted with cancer of the face for the past fourteen years, and at times it has caused him to suffer very much. He was very patient and, although his trouble caused him much pain, he has never been heard to complain. He leaves a wife and seven children to mourn his loss. Deceased was a true father and loving husband. He was loved by all his neighbors and friends. He was a member of the Presbyterian church, and died in that faith. The funeral services took place at the M. E. Church, this place, conducted by Rev. S. H. Hyde, D. D., after which the remains were laid to rest by the side of his daughter in the Majorville cemetery.
