Madeline K. Hurt, 88, of Lee's Summit, Mo., died Monday, Feb. 6, 2006, at Wilshire at Lakewood.
She was born Aug. 17, 1917, in Renicke, W.V., a daughter of Lawrence and Mary Rhoads King. She married James Ransom Hurt on Feb. 2, 1938. He died in 1968.
She is survived by one daughter, Joy (Roger) Stocker; seven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James; one son, Robert; and one grandson, Gary Hurt.
She was a member of the seventh Day Adventist Church in Carthage, and a cook for Carthage College for 22 years.
She will be greatly missed and always loved by her daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Madeline K. Hurt, 88, of Lee's Summit, Mo., died Monday, Feb. 6, 2006, at Wilshire at Lakewood.

Madeline K. Hurt, 88, of Lee's Summit, Mo., formerly of Carthage, died earlier this year on Monday, Feb. 15, 2006, at Wilshire at Lakewood.
Graveside services are Friday, April 14, at 2:30 p.m. in the Franklin Cemetery in rural Carthage, with Pastor Lester Ramsey officiating.
Printy Funeral Home in Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
