Jacob George Huls, 78, of rural Carthage died Thursday, Jan. 10, 1991, at Memorial Hospital in Carthage.
Mr. Huls was born Jan. 12, 1912, in Harmony Township, the son of Libbie and Christina Loeschen Huls. He married Hilda Sartorius on Jan. 31, 1934, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Carthage.
He was a lifelong resident of Harmony Township and farmed until his retirement. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Hilda, of Carthage; two sons, Harold Huls and Lloyd Huls, both of Carthage; nine daughters, Gladys Rhodes, Alice Varner, Esther Stuehrenberg and Janet Glisan, all of Carthage, Martha Shay of Louisville, Ky., Mary Lou Lisenbee of Dallas, Texas, Fern Grace of Avon, Dixie Schneider of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, and Susan Tenhouse of Cumming, Ga.; one brother, Albert Huls of Basco; one sister, Arline Fecht of Carthage; 32 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ernest; and one granddaughter.
Services were held Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Alfred Kruse officiating. Burial was in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
