Gary Huls, 63, of Basco, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, at his home.
He was born March 30, 1944, in Carthage, a son of Ernest Libbie and Frances Mardelle Launer Huls. He married Margaret "Maggie" Gavillet.
He is survived by his fiance, Linda Finton of Basco; four children, David (Melissa) Huls of Basco, Patti (Rick) Bruns of Camp Point, Doug (Shannon) Huls of Basco, and Krista (Rob) Snyder of Milton, Wis., two step-children, Shannon Finton of Amarillo, Texas, and Kelli (Gregg) Dantin of Marysville, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, Cody, Wyatt, and Madison Huls, Danielle and Kaylee Bruns, Cayden, Cole, and Caydee Kirkham, and Robbie and Jacob Snyder; three step-grandchildren, Trevor Finton, and Ana and Jack Dantin; his mother, Mardelle Reed of Basco; and one sister, Bonnie (Jack) Lafeber of Basco.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest; one brother, Jim Huls; and one nephew, Jeff Huls.
He attended school in Warsaw, graduating from Warsaw High School in 1963. He farmed for many years and then went to work for the W.L. Miller Company in 1982. He was a member of the Basco Tractor Club and also enjoyed shooting trap. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Funeral services were held Nov. 3, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
