Column 1Hezekiah K. Hough, the father of Mrs. George Timberlake of near this city, died April 13th in Bowen, after an illness of a little over a week of erysipelas. The funeral was held Friday afternoon at the Congregational church, with burial in the Bowen cemetery.

Page 40Mr. Hezekiah K. Hough, was born near Troy, Montgomery County, North Carolina, April 26, 1850, and departed this life April 13, 1916, at the age of 65 years, 11 months and 18 days, after a two weeks illness.
He moved to Illinois in the year 1867, locating near Carthage, and since that time has made his home in Hancock county, spending the greater part of his life farming, until seven years ago when he moved to this place, where he has since been employed by the H. B. Nash & Co., hardware store, where he proved himself an efficient servant for the firm until his death.
He was the 6th child of Wm. and Elmira Hough, being from a family of 14 children, 4 girls and 10 boys, his parents and 9 brothers and sisters having preceded him in death, those remaining are: John A., of Galesburg, Ill., W. T., his twin brother, of this place, Joseph M., of Keokuk, Iowa, D. S., of Oil City, Louisiana, and Preston W., of Callaway, Neb.
He was married to Miss Almira J. Cox, Nov., 27th, 1873, at Carthage, Ill., to this union 7 children were born, 5 daughters and two sons, Mrs. Minnie I. Timberlake, of Carthage, Ill., Mrs. Lelia M. Harbur, of Brashear, Mo., Clarence E., of Denver ..., Mrs. Josie Harter, of Bowen and Lennie, Lessie and Clifton L., at home, all of whom survive him, together w grandchildren, one lit daughter having prece in death, the daughter and Mrs. Harman Hart
He united with the Episcopal church
