Funeral services for Jesse Barr Hoover, 86, Rt. 3, Carthage were held Monday afternoon in the Neiser Funeral Home, Carthage, with the Rev. C. J. Rediger officiating. Burial was in McKay Cemetery.
Mr. Hoover died Friday in St. Mary Hospital, Quincy, where he had been a patient about ten days.
He was born in Burnside April 12, 1881, to Henry and Sarah Young Hoover. He married Theresa Lovell August 9, 1920. He farmed most of his life in the Burnside area.
Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Sadie Wall, LaHarpe; Mrs. Betty Thompson, Tennessee; Mrs. Tressler Hasten, Carthage; Mrs. Maude Lambert, Macomb; Mrs. Marjorie Akins, LaPrairie; and Mrs. Jessie Sanders, Green Rock; a son, Charles, Quincy; and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
