BARRY, Ill. -- Charles P. Hoover, 62, of Barry died Saturday (Feb. 3, 1990) in Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia, Mo.
Mr. Hoover was born Sept. 14, 1927, in Hancock County, a son of Jess and Treacy Lovell Hoover. He married Ruby Dobbins June 13, 1963, in Quincy. She survives.
Survivors also include two sons, Ronnie of Moline and Charles II of Barry; three daughters, Teena Mellon, Treacy Hoover and Ruby Hoover, all of Barry; two stepsons, Bryan Vaughn of Quincy and Kevin Wilson of Barry; a stepdaughter, Amber Hoover of Barry; six sisters, Sadie Olson, Betty Thompson and Margie Akins, all of Macomb, Goldie Hasten of Carthage, Maude Lambert of Texas and Jessie Sanders of Carbon Cliff; four grandchildren; and six stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in McKay Cemetery in Burnside.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry.
