Brenda Sue "Happy" Hobb, 46, of Hamilton, died on Saturday, May 30, 2009, at her home.
She was born on June 8, 1962, in Keokuk, Iowa, a daughter of Roger C. and Jeanette (Real) Butler. She married Louis Hobb on Sept. 24, 1983, in Keokuk. He survives in Hamilton.
Happy is survived by her parents, Roger and Jeanette Butler of Alexandria, Mo.; two sons, Nathan Hobb of Montrose, Iowa, and Adam Hobb of Hamilton; one sister, Debbie (Tom) Pitford of Alexandria; one brother, Roger D. Butler of Keokuk; her mother-in-law, Rosalie Hobb of Hamilton; eight sisters-in-law, Gladys (Jerry) Pierce of Monahans, Texas, Shirley Hobb of Hamilton, Adalee (Mike) Johnson of Blandinsville, Doris (Marvin) of Fort Madison, Iowa, Mary (Buddy) Bennet of Garland, Texas, Vera (John) Davis of Troy, Mich., Karen (Roger) Bryant of Keokuk, and Nancy (Bill) Mann of Monahans; two brothers-in-law, Jimmy (Sherlene) Hobb of Keokuk and Alva Hobb of Warsaw; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; one sister-in-law, Rosalie Rakey; and one brother-in-law, Stanley Hobb.
Happy graduated from CCR-I school in Kahoka, Mo., and attended State Street Cosmetology School in Quincy. She worked several jobs and made friends where ever she went. Most recently she worked at Shellor Globe in Keokuk until her illness prevented her from working.
She enjoyed making crafts, collecting smiley faces and spending time with her family. She had a big heart and will be missed by everyone who knew her, including her dog, Mickey.
A memorial service is at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, at Lamporte - St. Clair Funeral Home in Hamilton, with Terry Massey officiating. Inurnment follows in Frazee Cemetery in rural Alexandria, Mo.
Visitation is after 10 a.m. on Thursday, with family meeting friends between 11 a.m. and the time of the service at Lamporte - St. Clair Funeral Home of Hamilton.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
