Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hobart, residents of Dothan, Ala. since 1957, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Wednesday, March 14, when their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Steinmetz of Dothan entertained for them at open house at the Steinmetz home.  Approximately 70 guests called to extend felicitations to the couple between the hours of 7 and 10 p.m.

Among those from out of town were a daughter of the celebrants, Mrs. Edward H. Monroe of Buenos Aires, Argentina; a son, J. M. Hobart and Mrs. Hobart of Fountain Green, and two sisters of Mrs. Hobart's, Mrs. Frances Cook of Burlington, Iowa, and Mrs. Paul Botts of Carthage.  Also Mrs. Charles Steig of Woodstock and Charles V. Cox of Birmingham, Ala.

On this occasion the three children were together with their parents for the first time in 18 years.

Mr. and Mrs. Hobart came to Dothan from Panama City and before moving there, they resided in Illinois.  Prior to her marriage, Mrs. Hobart was Marguerite McConnell of Carthage.

The honorees and their three children received informally.  Mrs. Hobart wore a mauve lace dress with corsage of yellow carnations.

Decorations in the home followed the "golden wedding" theme and arrangements included Fuji chrysanthemums, carnations and roses in shades of yellow and gold.

The lace covered serving table held a large white anniversary cake, made in tiers which were edged with frosted golden roses.  On the top tier were the numerals 50 in golden shade.
