Some years ago she moved with her parents to Peoria, Ill., where she attended school and grew to womanhood. After completing her school work she was a very successful teacher in the public schools of Peoria for several years.
Having been raised a devout Christian she felt the need of more workers in the Mission Field and for five years she labored in the missionary work in Egypt.
Returning to Peoria she took up the study of chiropractics and upon graduation she practiced with her father who was a successful chiropractor in that place, until ill health forced her to enter a sanitarium at Kankakee.
Monday morning, March 21, while walking on the hard road near this place she was struck by a truck and killed.
Miss Henry is survived by two brothers, Guy of New York City, and Bruce of Chicago, and one sister, Laura of Peoria. Her parents and one brother, Harry preceded her in death.
The body arrived in Colchester, Ill., Friday morning and was brought by undertaker Williams of that place to the home of her cousin, Allen Geddes and Mrs. Geddes, where brief funeral services, conducted by Rev. Maynard of Colchester were held that afternoon, with burial in the family lot in McConnell cemetery northwest of town.
Those attending the funeral from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Henry of Chicago, Miss Laura Henry and Miss Jessie Murphy of Peoria, Mrs. Mary Geddes Abbott of Santa Marie, Calif.
