JESSIE HASTEN

Mrs. Jessie B. Hasten, 89, of LaHarpe died Dec. 6 at the Hancock County Nursing Home in Carthage where she had resided for the past nine years.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Banks and Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe, the Rev. Norman Howard officiating.  Burial will be in McConnell Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Hancock County Nursing Home.

She was born Sept. 30, 1892, in Fountain Green, the daughter of Ralph and Anna Anderson McConnell.  She married Carl Hasten Aug. 11, 1916, in Burlington, Iowa.  He preceded her in death April 28, 1960.  She was a teacher for a few years and a member of the Fountain Green United Presbyterian Church and the Church Circle Club.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Earl (Jean) Blumer of Weedsport, N.Y., Mrs. Robert (Christine) DeHaven of Blandinsville, and Mrs. Lee (Margie) Walker of Fountain Green; three sons, Carl Jr. of Blandinsville, Jim of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Bill of LaHarpe; one step-daughter-in-law; one sister, Mrs. New (Helen) York of Galesburg; four brothers, Milt and Faye of Prole, Iowa, Wes of Carthage and Wayne of LaHarpe, 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, three grandchildren and a stepson.
