Funeral services for Mrs. Walter (Ruby) Hardy, 72, Rt. 1, Carthage, were held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Fecht Funeral Home in Carthage with Elder Joseph Blair officiating. Burial was in Harmony Cemetery east of Bentley.
Casket bearers were John Lionberger and grandsons, Jeff, Gregory, Craig and Douglas and Hardy and Bill Gronewald.
Mrs. Hardy died Wednesday morning, June 12, 1974, in Memorial Hospital in Carthage.
She was born Sept. 27, 1901, in Harmony Township, a daughter of Samuel A. and Virginia Mauck McCallister. She married Walter J. Hardy Sept. 19, 1922, in Carthage.
She was a member of the Middle Creek Primitive Baptist Church, a charter member of the Jolly Housekeepers, Domestic Science Club, Harmony twig of Memorial Hospital auxiliary, the Tops Club and the ATA auxiliary.
Surviving with her husband are two sons, Walter Jr. of Rock Falls and Robert J. of Hamilton; 11 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Mae Burner of Carthage.
A memorial fund has been established in her name for the Cancer Society.
