Funeral services for Erwin Hardisty, 70, of LaHarpe, were held Friday at Banks and Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Rev. Norman Howard officiating. Burial was in Glade City Cemetery near Blandinsville.
A memorial to the Landscaping Fund of the LaHarpe Swimming Pool has been established.
He was born Feb. 18, 1910, near Blandinsville, the son of W. H. "Dick" and Amanda Jones Hardisty. He married Elgin Yetter on July 12, 1933 in Davenport.
He was a member of the LaHarpe Senior Citizens and LaHarpe Golden Rule Club. He was a farmer retiring in 1960 and a carpenter. He and his wife operated and owned the Travelers Inn Restaurant in LaHarpe from 1968 to 1973.
Surviving are his wife; his mother of LaHarpe; one daughter, Mrs. Kermit (Janet) Barrett of rural Colchester; one son, Max of Macomb; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Shaw of Dallas City and Mrs. Fred (Dorothy) St. Ores of Dallas City; five grandchildren; and one step-great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his father; a daughter and one infant brother.
