Column 3Celebrated Sixtieth Wedding Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. G. M. Harbur of near Memphis, Mo., celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary March 26th. Mrs. Harbur was formerly Martha Ellen Bryant, born 1855 in Hancock county near Carthage, Illinois. Marion Harbur was born in 1852 in Scotland county near Memphis, Mo., and still resides on the same farm which his father entered, on which there has never been a warranty deed or a loan, just a patent from the government and a quit claim deed.
Mr. and Mrs. Harbur are the proud parents of eleven children, twenty-three grandchildren and nine great grandchildren living; a number of which were present at a much enjoyed anniversary dinner at their home.
Mr. and Mrs. Harbur are the parents of Perry "Peck" Harbur of this city and Douglas, formerly residing here but now a resident of Galesburg.

Column 5MRS. MARION HARBUR DIES AFTER LINGERING ILLNESS
MARTHA ELLEN HARBUR
Martha Ellen Bryant was born near Carthage, Ill., Nov. 12, 1856, and passed away at her home southeast of Memphis, Mo. Dec. 14, 1934, at 9:40 a.m., aged 78 years, 1 month and two days.
She united in marriage with G. M. Harbur, March 26, 1872, at Carthage, Ill. and moved to their present home at that time. To this union 12 children were born. Two preceded her in death, Arthur, who died in infancy, and Dudley G., who died Dec. 17, 1932 in Galesburg, Ill. Ten children and her husband survive: Ambrose, Everett H. and Charley of Adair County; Perry of Carthage, Ill.; James, Elizabeth and Ellis of Memphis; William of Kahoka; Ada and Elsie of Ottumwa, Ia. Twenty three grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren. Also one sister, Mrs. John Kiger of near Bible Grove.
In early life she united with the Baptist Church and in later years changed her membership to the Methodist Church and lived a consistent christian mother.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. K. Green at Union Church at 11 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 16, 1934, and the body was laid to rest in the Union cemetery near by. Music was furnished by a quartette, composed of Madaline Moffett, Mrs. Wm. Bice, A. G. Moffett and Fred Gerth; soloist, Mrs. Chas. E. Ebeling, -- by request; pianist, Eva Price. The body bearers were six of her sons.

December 21, 1934Mrs. Martha Harbur, mother of Perry Harbur of Carthage, died at her home southeast of Memphis, Mo., on Friday, Dec. 14. She was 79 years old.
