Roberta A. Haines, 92, of LaHarpe, died Sunday, March 22, 2009, at the LaHarpe Davier Health Care Center.
She was born July 16, 1916, near Fountain Green, the daughter of Kerus and Zola (Barr) Huston. On Dec. 23, 1939, she married Ellis Haines in Kahoka, Mo. He died on March 31, 1999.
Surviving is one sister, Dorothy (Jerry) Baker of Quincy; three nieces, Dianne (Rick) Balmer of LaHarpe, Donna (Wendell) Cunningham of Quincy and Kathy (Terry) Anastas of Quincy; and a nephew, Steve (Lynda) Baker of Quincy. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Keith and Edward Huston.
She graduated from Fountain Green High School. She and Ellis lived much of their married life in Bushnell where she was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Eastern Star and Thimble Club. In 1979 they moved to LaHarpe. She was a member of the Union Church of LaHarpe.
Services were Tuesday, March 24, at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Rev. Bruce Goettsche officiating. Burial was in the Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb.
