Mother DiesFuneral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday for Mrs. Alta Haines, 72, of Hire township, at the Cedar Creek church north of Colchester with Rev. Earl King of Chenoa officiating. Mrs. Haines died at 8:45 a.m. Saturday morning of last week at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nina Huston, of Denver, where she has been the past two weeks. Burial was in Mt. Auburn cemetery.
Mrs. Haines was born November 25, 1873, at Blandinsville, the daughter of Ranson and Mary Jane Sederns Harris. In March of this year, she and Otis Haines, who were married in March, 1896, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. She was a member of Cedar Creek church.
Surviving in addition to her husband are six children, Mrs. Huston of Denver, Mrs. Mary Corzatt and Mrs. Martha Harding of Raritan, Walter and Claire Haines of Colchester, and Howard Haines of Chicago. Twenty-nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive. Four children are deceased.
