Dies in HospitalMrs. Reka Gronewold was born Feb. 15, 1879, in Bear Creek township, Hancock county, the daughter of George and Trientje Schuster Fecht. She passed away April 19 ?? Hancock county Memorial hospital after a period of 25 days confinement there, at the age of 72 years, two months and 14 days.
Feb. 26, 1902, she was united in marriage to John Gronewold. To this union were born four sons, two of whom died in infancy. Mr. Gronewold preceded her in death 1933.
Mrs. Gronewold was baptized and confirmed in Immanuel Lutheran church, at Bentley. In 1941 she transferred her membership to Trinity Lutheran church, in Carthage where she continued as a faithful member until death. She had been made a life member of the Woman's Missionary Society through the Annie Reyer Guild by her sons.
Mrs. Gronewold is survived by her two sons, Henry, of Basco, and George, of Route 2, Carthage, and four grandchildren. Besides her parents, husband and two sons, three brothers preceded her in death.
A short service was held at the George Gronewold home, near Basco, at 1:30 o'clock Wednesday, followed by a service at Trinity Lutheran church at 2, with Rev. Paul Hersch officiating. Martin T. M??son was soloist, accompanied by William Roth, organist.
Pallbearers were Henry Huls, J? Redenius, Arnold Fecht, Amos Fecht, George E. Fecht and Herman B???.
Interment was in Immanuel cemetery.
