Funeral services for Robert H. Goodrich, 74, of Silvis, formerly of Carthage, were held Saturday, Sept. 12, at 1 p.m. in the Schroder Mortuary in Silvis, Bishop E. C. St. Clair of the Glorious Church of Jesus Christ, officiating. Burial was in Greenview Memorial Gardens near Silvis.
Mr. Goodrich died Wednesday, Sept. 9, in the home of his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Alva Pyles in Silvis. Death was due to a heart attack.
Born in Carthage, Dec. 28, 1889, he was a son of William T. and Mary Shipman Goodrich. He was married to Clara A. Langdon in Carthage March 10, 1912. They lived in Carthage until 1939 when they moved to Silvis.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ in Silvis and was head deacon at the time of his death.
Surviving are three sons, Marshall of Silvis, Robert of Rockford, and Harold of East Moline; four sisters, Mrs. Lulu Inman and Mrs. Leota Lewis of Keokuk, Iowa, Mrs. Jessie Inman of Elvaston, and Mrs. Pyles of Silvis; 19 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
His wife preceded him in death in February, 1963.
