Funeral services for Lloyd H. Gibson, 74, of Carthage, will be held Tuesday at Leathem Funeral Home in Carthage with Rev. Franklin Woods officiating. Burial will be in Moss Ridge Cemetery.
A memorial to Oak Grove Christian Church has been established.
Mr. Gibson died Sunday, March 2, at Carthage Memorial Hospital.
He was born Jan. 24, 1906, in Carthage, a son of James W. and Nellie Richardson Gibson. He married Leona Johnson on Aug. 16, 1941 in Reno, Nev. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Carthage and the Denver Lodge 464 AF and AM. He attended Carthage schools and Gem City Business College. He joined the Merchant Marine in 1934 and served until 1975.
Surviving are his wife, one nephew and one niece.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
