Dies At HamiltonAlfred M. Gibson, 62, well-known Hamilton man and past noble grand of the Hamilton Odd Fellows for several years, died at his home there April 1, after an illness of several months.
Born east of Carthage on Sept. 29, 1877, he united in marriage with Pervis Ann Sherrill on January 16, 1900.
Surviving are his widow; two sons, Lester Gibson of Keokuk and Merlin Gibson of Carthage; four daughters, Mrs. Bernice Bell of Peoria, Mrs. Alma Schilson of Hamilton, Mrs. Pauline Metternich of Mt. Sterling, Ill., and Mrs. Dorothy Huls of Carthage; eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; two sisters and one brother. A sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held from the Hanerhoff Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. Mr. Webb of Carthage, officiating. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery.

PASSED AWAY AT
HAMILTON, SUN.Alfred M. Gibson, well known resident of Oakwood, passed away at his home Sunday morning, March 31, after several months of illness attended by much suffering.
Alfred M. Gibson was born near Carthage on September 29, 1877. In January of the year 1900 he was united in marriage with Miss Pervis Ann Sherrill, who survives, also the following children: Mrs. Bernice Bell of Burlington, Iowa; Mrs. Marie Higham of Peoria; Mrs. Alma Schilson of Hamilton; Mrs. Pauline Metternich of Mt. Sterling; Mrs. Dorothy Huls of Carthage; Lester Gibson of Keokuk, and Merlin Gibson of Carthage; also eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Morgan Webb of Carthage, on Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Hanerhoff funeral home. Miss Irva Peters sang a solo and Mrs. Paul Hanerhoff and Miss Peters, a duet.
The pallbearers were: John Schilson, Ernest Schilson, Emerson Knowles, John Wardwell, Harve Hardy and Guy Norris. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery.
