Col. Thomas Geddes, died Sunday Jan. 31st, 1892, at his home in Fountain Green vicinity, at the age of 86 years, 6 months and 24 days.
He was born July 7th 1805, in Path Valley, Franklin county, Pa. His parents were Paul Geddes and Sarah Fitzsimmons. He united with the Presbyterian church in his boyhood. He and Susan R. Walker were united in marriage in 1830. His wife preceded him to the grave about three weeks. This aged couple have lived together for sixty-one years, and have been residents of this county, living on the farm where they died, fifty-eight years. They were well-known all over the county and will be mourned by a large circle of friends. He assisted in organizing the Presbyterian church in 1840, and has been identified with that society since and was elected one of its ruling elders. He was the last survivor of the original members. He and his estimable wife have held the respect and esteem of their entire acquaintance. There were seven children, several of whom reside in this county.
