ROBERT C. GANION

Feb. 27, 1914 -- Oct. 4, 2004

Robert C. Ganion, 90, of Carthage, died Monday, Oct. 4, 2004, at the Hancock County Nursing Home in Carthage of natural causes.

He was born Feb. 27, 1914, in Thyer, Mo., the son of Carl and Florence Folkerts Ganion.  On Dec. 31, 1936, he married Maxine Hardy in Quincy.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine; one son, Larry (Donna) of Muncie, Ind.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Willard of Springfield, Mo., and Bertha Loclemiller of Springfield, Mo.; one brother, John Ganion of West Plains, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and two brothers.

He had farmed for 12 years and then spent 27 years with the Hancock County Highway Department.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carthage and the Odd Fellows.

Funeral services were held Oct. 8, at the First Baptist Church in Carthage.  Burial followed in the Harmony Township Cemetery near Bentley.

Memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church in Carthage or Blessing Hospice of Hancock County.

Robert C. Ganion

Robert C. Ganion, 90, Carthage, died at 5:25 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4, 2004, at the Hancock County Nursing Home, Carthage of natural causes.

He was born Feb. 27, 1914, in Thyer, Mo., the son of Carl and Florence (Folkerts) Ganion.  He married Maxine Hardy Dec. 31, 1936, in Quincy.  She survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Larry (Donna) Ganion, Muncie, Ind.; three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Willard, Springfield, Mo. and Bertha Loclemiller, Springfield, Mo.; one brother, John Ganion, West Plains, Mo.
