(From the Times.)

Margaret Frances McConnell was born at Fountain Green, Ill., May 19, 1855.  She was the daughter of Alexander W. and Evelyn McConnell, early and esteemed residents of that vicinity and of whose family there survive Mrs. Linda Bullock and Mrs. Anna Latherow, of La Harpe; Charles A. McConnell of Fountain Green, and John W. of Carthage.  On March 26, 1878, Fannie was united in marriage to Frank Fortney.  Two sons were born to them, James of La Harpe and Charlie of Hamilton.  There are also two granddaughters, Gail and Gladys Fortney.  Many years ago Mrs. Fortney made room in her heart and home for Jessie Cushman, a motherless little girl to whom she gave maternal love and care, and who remained a member of her household until her marriage to James Patterson of LaCrosse.  Her death occurred at her home near LaCrosse May 21st, at the age of 61 years.
