March 7, 1930Keokuk, Ia., March 4. -- Henry Flick, 85, for fifteen years a resident of Keokuk and a Civil war veteran, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Collins, 1302 Bluff street, at 9:45 o'clock Monday morning after a long illness.
Born December 17, 1844, in Missouri, he enlisted in the army of the Civil war as a private of the 21st regiment of the Missouri infantry, and was honorably discharged at the close of the war. After the war he married Frances Woodruff. The wedding occurred October 14, 1874, in Prospect Grove, Mo. Seven children were born, two of whom have preceded their father in death, together with the mother, who died six years ago. He was a member of the Christian church of Memphis, Mo.
He leaves the following children: William Flick of California, Mrs. P. A. Harbur of Boulder, Colo., Mrs. James Bryant of Boulder, Colo., and Mrs. Charles Collins and Mrs. F. E. Carlson of Keokuk. There are six great grandchildren. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah cemetery in Missouri.
