Mrs. Frank Faulkner

Funeral services for Mrs. Frank (Mabel) Faulkner, 90, Rt. 3, Carthage, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Burnside Christian Church with the Rev. John Lyon and the Rev. Tracey Chamberlain officiating.  Burial was in Harmony Cemetery east of Bentley.  Visitation was held in the Kilgore - Palmer Memorial Home in Carthage.

Mrs. Faulkner died Saturday morning, May 17, 1969, in Sacred Heart Hospital in Fort Madison, Iowa.

She was born Dec. 8, 1878, near Hamilton, a daughter of John and Ellen Cauthorn Smith.  She lived all of her life in Hancock County.  She married Frank Faulkner April 2, 1905, in Hamilton.  She was a member of the Burnside Christian Church.

Surviving are one son, Roy E. of Farmington, Iowa; four daughters, Mrs. Henry J. (Alpha) Ufkes and Mrs. Wade (Jessie) Welch of Carthage, Mrs. (Lela) Weinreich of Skokie and Miss Esther Faulkner of Hicksville, Long Island, N. Y.; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Hanson of Hamilton; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, five brothers and three sisters.
