Death of William Ewing

Tuesday afternoon Wm. Ewing went to the field to plow.  Late in the afternoon his wife noticed the horses standing at one end of the field an unusually long time.  Upon investigating she found him dead beside the plow.  Apparently he had sat down on the beam of the plow to rest and death had overtaken him.  Neighbors were speedily summoned and he was removed to the house.  The coroner was summoned but could not reach there until the next day.  The jury brought in a verdict of death from natural causes.

Funeral services were held at the Christian church here Friday afternoon and the body laid to rest in the McKay Cemetery.
